Mark Parker Discusses His Candidacy for Balto. City Council in the 1st District

I recently sat down with Mark Parker (above, in a campaign photo) to discuss his candidacy for Baltimore City Council in the first district, a seat currently occupied by Councilman Jim Kraft, who is not seeking reelection. Among other things, Parker touched on the first district as a historic hub for new immigrant communities (approx. 5:01 mark), the idea that the MTA ought to become more of a regional authority in order to achieve greater local control over public transportation (16:55), and how to ensure that all community members are being heard by their representative on the council (27:34).
